13 Questions with Rosie
From humble beginnings in the Nations Capital, the cute and fascinating Rosie has graced the pages, pixels and paper of both national and international fashion publications. I sat down with Rosie to talk fashion, fun and ambition.
What do you do?
I'm a model and sometimes an artist
Describe yourself in three words?
Sleepy, creative and uncoordinated 🐼
What has been your greatest experience?
I'd have to say having an editorial spread in Vogue Australia has been my greatest experience and achievement
What city are you living in at the moment?
I'm currently living in a small town called Sandhurst with my grandparents. It's about an hour south of London 🇬🇧
Where is your favourite place to travel to?
I love Asia for the unusual culture and food... Singapore has delicious dumplings and soup!
But after travelling all around the world, I can happily say Australia is the most amazing country I've been to and had the privilege of living in
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Maybe working on my own label or something creative like book illustrations or poetry. Maybe settling down and starting a family too
When you where young what did you want to be?
I wanted to be an architect!
Whats your go to music?
Blink 182 and Arctic Monkeys. I love alternative rock and punk, and music that makes me want to dance around.
I also love some Rodriguez and Sigur Rós
What's your honest opinion of the fashion industry?
Tough, but rewarding. You've got to have thick skin and a lot of support to keep you going through the tougher parts, but when you achieve something great you feel so accomplished and proud of yourself
What is it really like to be a model?
It's different for everyone, just like any job.. It's not at all like what people think though. When you're an 'up and coming' or 'new face' model you do a lot of work for free, then after building up your portfolio you start working on bigger projects with brands or magazines. Not every model is successful as well. I'm very grateful that I'm where I am today, working internationally and having the support of my family, friends and boyfriend 💕
How did you get to where you are today?
My mum! She's so supportive and really pushes me through everything. Of course I work hard and keep positive, but my mum's the real reason I try that extra 110%.
Love you mum!
